About Us
Established in 1998, the Center for Mind Body Wellness is one of the leading providers of mental health services in Northwest North Dakota. In addition to general comprehensive psychiatric mental health assessment and treatment, the Center is renowned for its work with children and adolescents and offers specialized services for women's health and family mental health. Services include ADHD assessment and treatment across the life span, medication management and individual, group and family therapy.
Deborah K. Johnson, RN, PhD, is a licensed, advance-practice registered nurse with authority to prescribe medications to children, adolescents and adults with mental health problems. Dr. Johnson received bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from Texas Woman's University and a doctorate in psychology from Kennedy Western University. She completed an additional three years of post-graduate training in family therapy from the North Dakota State University Family Therapy training project and is close to completion on a master psychopharmacology certification from the Neuroscience Education Institute in San Diego, California.
She maintains board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a clinical nurse specialist in child and adolescent psychiatric mental health nursing and in adult psychiatric mental health nursing. In addition, Dr. Johnson is also a certified child custody investigator for the state of North Dakota.
Married to a native North Dakotan, she has lived in the Minot area for more than 30 years and has worked in the mental health field since 1973.
